Description

Kühlbrandt’s research focuses on structures and mechanisms of membrane proteins and on their two- and three-dimensional crystallization. Furthermore, he works with cryo-electron microscopy and electron tomography on the structural elucidation of biomolecules and on the image processing of the obtained data. Likewise, he uses cryo-electron microscopy to conduct research on the molecular basis of mitochondrial aging.
