Dora Tang’s research, focuses on building synthetic cells with the ability to react, compartmentalize, and communicate while sustaining out-of-equilibrium behavior. Tang’s lab combines bottom-up synthetic biology, biochemistry, and biophysics to create minimal cellular systems that explore the origins of life, model biological mechanisms, and pave the way toward engineering Life 2.0.
