3D single molecule localization microscopy meets deep learning

The introduction of deep learning to single molecule localization microscopy opened new avenues in the field, allowing for the localization of dense emitters, multicolor microscopy, efficient volumetric imaging, and more. This talk will provide an overview of our group’s recent advancements in the application of deep learning to localization microscopy. Specific recent applications that will be discussed include: optimal task-specific point-spread function engineering, optical DNA mapping, and video-rate, dynamic super-resolution microscopy. Emphasis will be given on the democratization of such methods, in the form of “1-click” algorithms and 3D printing of optical phase masks.

The SCALE lunch seminar will take place in a hybrid form. All interested are invited to attend in person at the lecture hall of the MPI-BP with coffee and a light lunch in the atrium afterwards. At the same time, the lecture will also be streamed online via zoom. The zoom link will be sent by e-mail to the SCALE mailing list. To subscribe to the mailing list, please send an e-mail to scale-office@uni-frankfurt.de.
