Like in Star Trek: MoleculARweb tools for immersive multiuser molecular graphics and modeling

I will here introduce moleculARweb, a collection of multiuser, purely web-based tools for molecular graphics and modeling in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) that runs in every device from high-end XR headsets to consumer smartphones and computers. With these tools—HandMol, MolecularWebXR, and the broader moleculARweb ecosystem—we wish to democratize access to immersive visualization in chemistry and biology, spanning educational applications and also tools useful for research tasks that require complex manipulation in interactive molecular simulations. With no need for software installations, users can explore, interact, and collaborate on complex molecular structures using only their web browsers in their devices of choice. And you will get the chance to try this hands-on!

The SCALE lunch seminar will take place in a hybrid form. All interested are invited to attend in person at the lecture hall of the MPI-BP with coffee and a light lunch afterwards.
