Join us to celebrate the SCALE-it Best PhD Award 2025 — a special event honoring outstanding scientific achievements and interdisciplinary collaboration.

This year, we celebrate three exceptional dissertations, selected from a highly competitive and multidisciplinary pool of candidates. These awards reflect the excellence and diversity of our vibrant research community. The awardees are: Olivia Pfeil-Gardiner, PhD, recognized in the category of Best Method Development; Jakob M. Silberberg, PhD, recognized for Best Interdisciplinary Work; and Huaipeng Xing, PhD, recognized for Best Scientific Contribution.

As part of the award ceremony, we are delighted to welcome two distinguished guest speakers. Prof. Dr. Phillip Stansfeld from the University of Warwick is a leading computational biophysicist whose group investigates bacterial membrane proteins and developed MemProtMD, a key resource for membrane protein–lipid interactions. Dr. Christoph Spahn from the University of Würzburg is an expert in advanced single-molecule imaging (SMLM, STED, and live-cell microscopy), leveraging AI to tackle complex biological questions.

Join us for an afternoon of inspiring science, engaging discussions, live music, and delicious finger food — a celebration of our shared passion for discovery and community.

The event will take place on June 17, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the FIAS Lecture Hall, Ruth-Moufang-Straße 1, 60438 Frankfurt am Main.
