We are delighted to invite you to the Rolf-Sammet-Gastprofessur 2025 lecture series at Goethe University Frankfurt. Established through the generous support of the Rolf Sammet Foundation, this prestigious guest professorship brings outstanding international scientists to Frankfurt to share cutting-edge research and engage with our academic community.
This year’s Rolf-Sammet-Gastprofessor is Prof. Patrick Cramer, President of the Max Planck Society and a world-leading structural biologist whose pioneering work has transformed our understanding of gene transcription. His research has revealed fundamental molecular mechanisms of how cells read and regulate genetic information, providing deep insights into chromatin biology, transcription dynamics, and viral polymerases.
Prof. Cramer will present a series of lectures across Goethe University campuses and at Industriepark Höchst, offering perspectives tailored to students, researchers, and the broader public.
We warmly invite students, researchers, faculty, and guests to participate in this exceptional lecture series and engage with one of the most influential scientists in contemporary molecular biology.
Established in 1985 by what was then the Hoechst AG to honor its long-time chairman Rolf Sammet, the Rolf-Sammet-Gastprofessur brings globally renowned scientists to Frankfurt to enrich teaching and research in the natural sciences. It is one of the oldest foundation guest professorships at Goethe University and has hosted many distinguished researchers over the decades.
