  • Max Planck Institute of Biophysics, Lecture Hall

You are cordially invited to a lecture by Professor Vahid Sandoghdar, a leading physicist whose work has transformed the field of nano-optics and the optical investigation of biological systems. Prof. Sandoghdar has served as Director and Scientific Member at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light in Erlangen since 2011. He is internationally recognized for pioneering research at the interface of quantum optics, nanophotonics, and biomedical imaging, and is a Fellow of the Optical Society (OSA).

His research has expanded the limits of what can be visualized at the molecular and cellular scales, ranging from cryogenic single-molecule imaging at near-angstrom resolution to innovative fluorescence-free optical methods that reveal dynamic processes in living cells. As the founder of the Max Planck Center for Physics and Medicine, he has played a key role in uniting physics-driven technological advances with biomedical research.

In this lecture, Professor Sandoghdar will present: “Cryogenic imaging of protein complexes at angstrom resolution & three-dimensional fluorescence-free imaging in live cells” offering insight into cutting-edge approaches that redefine the boundaries of molecular and cellular imaging.

Date: December 17
Time: 12:30 PM
Venue: Max Planck Institute of Biophysics, Lecture Hall
