After six years of impactful research, the DFG-funded Priority Programme SPP 2191 is coming to a close. To mark this milestone, a joint international conference will be held in collaboration with the GBM Compact Meeting (GBM – Gesellschaft für Biochemie und Molekularbiologie e.V.).

This event will showcase the latest findings and open questions in the dynamic and interdisciplinary field of biomolecular condensate science. Central topics include how phase separation of proteins, RNA, and DNA drives the formation and regulation of membrane-less organelles, and how these mechanisms relate to cellular function and disease.
A scientific highlight of the meeting will be the keynote lecture by:
🗣️ Prof. Rohit Pappu (Washington University in St. Louis):
‘Complex intrinsic and RNA-dependent phase behaviors of RRM-containing proteins’
The program brings together international experts across disciplines—ranging from cell biology and biophysics to biochemical reconstitution, theory, and modeling—to explore the molecular basis and biomedical relevance of phase separation.
